Have you ever wanted to play in a band?
Whether you’re interested in rock, folk, jazz, or anything else, a band class is the place for you! Students are grouped according to interest and skill level to create a supportive band-based learning opportunity. Bands rehearse for an hour each week, coached by an experienced teacher. Band lessons teach students a variety of skills, including the following:
- Reading musical charts
- Working out parts by ear
- Arranging songs for a band
- Playing as part of a group
- Setting up and tearing down gear
- How to run a sound system
- How to run a rehearsal
- Live performance
